Liverpool fans have gone to desperate lengths to plead for the next Steven Gerrard

LIVERPOOL fans are begging Steven Gerrard’s wife Alex to have a baby boy - so he can be the next king of the Kop.

Steven Gerrard's wife Alex announced she was pregnant this morning

The 34-year-old posted a picture of her three daughters looking at an ultrasound scan today as she announced she was pregnant.

Alex wrote: "We are all very excited for our new baby to arrive next year !! number 4."

It prompted a dramatic outpour of tweets from hopeful Liverpool fans who are desperate for her to finally have a boy.

One fan wrote: “Just make it a boy ffs only person that can replace Gerrard is Gerrard himself.”

Another added: “Congratulations! Fingers crossed for a Stevie Jr...but a healthy baby nonetheless!”

A fellow Liverpool supporter tweeted: “Massive hopes it's going to be a boy this time. Another captain Gerrard in the future.”

Another Kopite wrote on Twitter: "This maybe MUST MUST MUST be a boy, the next Stevie!!!!!"

While one crudely posted: “Stevie just going at it till he produces an heir to the throne.”

Jurgen Klopp last week opened the door for Gerrard to return to Anfield as he prepares to leave the MLS.
The Liverpool boss said: “Steven Gerrard – and this will be a really big surprise – is always so welcome at Liverpool FC.
“You cannot imagine how welcome so absolutely no problem, but everything we will talk to each other about will stay in these talks.
“That is how I know Stevie and that is how I am. Nobody should be worried that we don’t have space for Steven Gerrard. Everything will be fine, 100 per cent.”
