Does this incredible footage prove giant 50 TONNE megaladon shark still exists?

INCREDIBLE footage has emerged that appears to prove the existence of the biggest and most powerful shark to have ever lived – the megaladon.
By Simon Green
The giant 50 tonne beast is thought to have gone extinct 2.6 million years ago.
But conspiracy theorists have regularly claimed they have spotted the creature roaming the Earth’s oceans.
And now startling footage has emerged that some are convinced prove once and for all the terrifying creature is still alive.
The clip begins with a shark’s fin popping out of the ocean with its tail behind.
The sheer distance between the two body parts suggest it is an enormous beast.

The shark shadowSCARY: The shark came close to the boat
When such videos have emerged in the past, many argue they are simply whale sharks – the largest known fish species in the world with a length of more than 12 metres.
But the creature in the footage does not share the white spots that are commonly associated with whale sharks.
The huge animal gets closer to the boat where the cameraman stands but doesn’t fully surface.
Its giant head appears and – with a megaladon tooth the size of a human hand – it could be conclusive proof of the beast.
The clip has been viewed more than seven million times since it was uploaded to YouTube.

Users – however – weren’t convinced by the footage.
One commented: “It’s a basking shark, a megaladon would be 90 times bigger.”
Another wrote: “Can’t believe you people…did you just assume its species?”
And a third added: “That might be a whale shark because it’s about 40 feet long.”
It comes as a gigantic tooth believed to originate from the megaladon was washed ashore by Hurricane Matthew.
