Kompany, 30, has been plagued by calf and thigh problems for the last two seasons.
He walked off the pitch during City’s win over Swansea in the last round of the EFL Cup last month in his first appearance of the season citing a groin injury.
Vincent Kompany played 78 minutes for Manchester City against Southampton
The defender returned to action last week against Everton before playing 78 minutes against Southampton on Sunday.
But he could not play more than 45 minutes against United after revealing earlier in the week he has a deal with City’s medical staff to declare any issues immediately.
But fellow defender Clichy insists his team-mate has not picked up another injury.
He said: “Vinnie is a massive player for us. There's nothing to be worried about.

“He's been out for quite some time and he played 80 minutes three days ago. He was sensible in not getting injured again.
“When you lose a player like this, you have to adjust. But we have enough quality to still play a good game.
"He did OK and he's not injured, so that is the main thing."
Clichy also insisted City are not in crisis despite their worst run without a win in EIGHT years.
They are now without a win in six games, the worst run of Guardiola’s management career, ahead of a visit to West Brom tomorrow.
The defender added: “We're doing well apart from the results.
“We just need to work a little bit and I'm sure we'll get there.”
