Before they were famous: Check out the celebs that once worked for minimum wage

CELEBRITIES tend to earn some serious cash for their jobs in the world of showbiz, but some of them once worked for minimum wage.

RACHEL MCADAMSMEAN GIRLS STAR: Rachel McAdams once worked at Maccies
Now that the new national living wage has been introduced – where everyone 25 and over will be paid £7.20 per hour – we thought we'd take a look back at some of the celebs who used to work for the minimum.
Let's start with Mean Girls star Rachel McAdams.
She's best known for playing bitchy Regina George alongside Lindsay Lohan, however, did you know she once worked at McDonalds?
She spent three years working for the Golden Arches and by her own admission, she really wasn't the best of employees.
"I'm not sure why they kept me: I am something of a daydreamer and a dawdler, so they would only let me be the 'friendly voice' that greeted you when you entered the restaurant," she told the Huffington Post.
McAdams isn't the only star who worked in the fast food restaurant either.
PINKNIGHTMARES: Pink doesn't want to revisit her McDonalds days
Believe it or not, Pink still has nightmares about her experience.
The Sober singer is haunted by memories of her younger days, when she worked at the chain in her hometown of Doylestown.
She reportedly explained: "Sometimes I dream I am back there, broke and working at McDonalds.
"It's like the worst nightmare because I would never want to go back there.
"I've worked hard to get where I am."
KANYE WESTFORMER GAP MAN: Who knew Kanye wouldn't just stick to designer?
Have we ever told you about the time Kim Kardashian's husband Kanye West worked at Gap?
No? Allow us to go on.
Before the rapper was known for his bonkers Twitter rants, he actually worked as a sales assistant at the clothing store.
We doubt we'd ever catch the 38-year-old in those threads now, but he actually spoke about his short-lived career with the clothing line on his first album The College Dropout.
On Spaceship, he explains: "Lets go back, back to the Gap, look at my check, wasn't no scratch. So if I stole, wasn't my fault. Yeah I stole, never got caught."
Good to know, mate.
Mariah CareyWAY BACK WHEN: Mariah once worked as a salon assistant
Before hitting those insane high notes, Mariah Carey actually used to sweep hair from the salon floor.
Imagine, if things had turned out different, we could be going in to have our locks chopped by MiMi.
It's pretty hard to think of Mariah – who is often branded a diva – doing anything she doesn't want to do, but she explained: "It was the pits working in a salon, sweeping up hair."
Not a fan, then.
She reportedly one day told her boss she had to make a phone call, and never went back – sounds like something Mariah would do.
MADONNAFIRED: Madonna once worked at Dunkin Donuts... for a day.
The popstar was allegedly fired on her very first day at Dunkin' Donuts in Times Square, for accidentally squirting a customer with jam.
We're not sure how you accidentally cover someone in jam, but, each to their own.
MEGAN FOXTRANSFORMERS BABE: Megan Fox had a very different job before she was an actress
Megan Fox is known these days for her role in Transformers, or Jennifer's Body – which failed to reach more than 34% from the Rotten Tomatoes audience. Ouch.'
However, before pretty much every teenage boy on the planet became infatuated with the brunette hottie, she worked for a smoothie shop in Florida.
What's more, she had to wear a head-to-toe banana costume.
Megan, 29, once joked to Ellen DeGeneres that it was the only real job she'd ever had.
PRESIDENT OBAMAHERE'S THE SCOOP: President Obama once worked at Baskin Robbins
Here's the scoop; President Barack Obama actually once worked at Baskin Robbins in Hawaii.
He said the experience taught him lessons about hard work, ultimately helping him get to where he is today.
He wrote about his first gig, saying: "My first summer job wasn’t exactly glamorous, but it taught me some valuable lessons.
"Responsibility. Hard work. Balancing a job with friends, family, and school."
Amy Adams has been nominated five Academy Awards, but used to sport the famous orange hot pants as a Hooters waitress.
She took the job to pay for a car, and after saving enough to do so, she took $900 and bought a used Chevrolet, saying goodbye to the hot pants forever.
HARRY STYLESBAKERY BOY: One Direction's Harry Styles has come a long way
Finally, it would feel wrong not to mention one of the biggest stars on the planet.
One Direction star Harry Styles once worked in a bakery at the age of 14.
Back in his homeland of Cheshire, his former boss said: "He was the most polite member of staff we've ever had.
"Customers really took a shine to him."
Harry even returned to his old job to film scenes for the One Direction movie.
