Manuel Pellegrini thinks Man City fans can boo them to Champions League glory

MANUEL PELLEGRINI has urged Manchester City fans to boo his side into the Champions League semi-finals.

FOCUSSED: Pellegrini believes the Etihad crowd will have a big impact tonight
Pellegrini’s men meet Paris St-Germain in a crunch quarter-final showdown at the Etihad tonight.
The clash promises to be one of the biggest night’s in City’s history as they look to book a place in the last four for the first time.
Home fans have jeered the opening Champions League music this season in protest at UEFA’s treatment of their club in relation to Financial Fair Play.
A near sell-out crowd is expected to do the same again tonight - but Pellegrini insists he doesn’t have a problem with it.
The Chilean says the booing has become one of City’s lucky charms because it means his side are still in the competition.
Pellegrini said: “It depends if you are superstitious. If you are superstitious then we continue winning if they boo the anthem.
“Of course the fans can make a difference. I know and they know also.
“Maybe they have some booing at the beginning, but after that they are always supporting our team so I don’t have any complaint about the fans.”

City’s chances of going through have been dealt a blow with the news captain Vincent Kompany will not figure.
The Belgium defender has missed the last month of the season with a calf problem.
He was hoping to face the French champions, but despite having a light workout with Pellegrini’s squad yesterday he has declared himself unavailable.
Pellegrini urged Kompany to be honest with himself and the centre back knows he is not 100 per cent fit to lead his team into action.
The City boss, who will also be without Raheem Sterling, added: “Vincent Kompany is not 100 per cent. It is not possible (for him to play).”
City bosses, meanwhile, remain confident of selling the remaining tickets and having a full house.
Some of the City players have recorded messages to be played on trams around Manchester urging fans to snap up the last few tickets and make it a night to remember.
