A MAN who stumbled across an enormous snake in his house was in for a nasty surprise when he stroked it.

The bloke filmed the moment he walked into a room and stumbled across the massive reptile.

He calmly showed his hand to the camera before reaching out and resting it on the snake's body.

It stayed still and didn’t respond at first but when the man moved his hand away, it lunged towards the camera, jaws open wide and ready to bite.

Lucky to be alive, the man rushed away from the snake to safety.
