CHRISTIAN BENTEKE is set for talks with Jurgen Klopp in desperate a bid to save his Liverpool career.
The Belgium striker is determined to stay at Anfield despite a disappointing debut campaign after his £32.5m move from Aston Villa.
But he admitted he needs to know whether he figures in Klopp’s plans for next season.
Benteke said: “Of course I want to stay. I signed for five years, I didn’t sign for one year.
“But now I have to speak with the manager and see his plan for next season.
“That’s between him and me, but I want to see his plan for next season. I am not the only one who is going to do that.
“I think a lot of players want to know what is going to happen next season.”
Players like Lucas, Joe Allen, Martin Skrtel and Jordon Ibe may also want to sit down with Klopp and see what the future is for them ahead of a summer of change at Anfield.
But Benteke is definitely keen on getting assurances he will play a part in Klopp’s era at Liverpool.
His style of play does not seem to fit in with Klopp’s system and he was a big purchase by former manager Brendan Rodgers.
