PARIS ST-GERMAIN are ready to launch a huge £78m raid for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

Spanish media outlet Fichajes claim the Ligue 1 champions are desperate to land the Colombian international.

The news looks set to be a huge blow to Manchester United.

Starsport exclusively revealed over the weekend that Rodriguez has been offered to Old Trafford bigwigs by influential agent Jorge Mendes.

And United were eyeing a bumper swoop for the player who has also been linked with Chelsea,Arsenal and Juventus.

Rodriguez has become a peripheral figure in Madrid having signed after a successful World Cup two years ago.

The Galacticos want at least £60m for the 24-year-old, having signed him from Monaco two years ago for £63m.

Despite United's riches, PSG have deep pockets and the resources to better any offer the Red Devils make.

But with PSG dominating the French top tier, the attacker might favour a move to a more competitive league.
