WHEN a little girl fell out of a fourth-storey window, the odds of survival were stacked against her.

But somehow this seven-year-old survived her brush with death, despite hitting the ground with nothing to break her fall.

Jaw-dropping CCTV footage shows the dark alley behind her apartment building as she slams into the floor and even appears to bounce.

It’s the sort of impact that could kill instantly, yet in mere moments the girl is up on her feet and hammering on the back door.

The shocking scene unfolded in the Bronx district of New York, US, and involved a girl who is autistic and non-verbal.

She was unable to communicate what happened, but local news station ABC7 said she may have been chasing a cat called Prince.

After the fall the girl was bleeding slightly from the mouth, but otherwise conscious and alert. She is now in hospital in a stable condition.

Daniel Castro, a 13-year-old boy who heard the impact, showed the girl to his mothers’ apartment where he called the emergency services.

He told ABC7: “I think she survived because the hand of god was in this. Because god was in it, he saved her.

“I could tell that she was in pain. I’ve never had to ever deal with anything like that so I just tried to make sure I would stay calm.”

Police said they were investigating, but no charges have been filed against the girl’s mother.
