The 18-year-old is the talk of English football after plundering four goals in his first two games.
Ace Rashford followed up his dream debut double against Midtjylland in the Europa League last week with two more goals on Sunday as United beat Arsenal 3-2 at Old Trafford.
He’s on just £1,000 a week and is one of the lowest-paid members of Louis van Gaal’s squad.
But United bosses are set to open talks with Rashford and his representatives about a new deal worth £20,000 a week plus bonuses that will tie him to the club until 2020.
Starsport understands Van Gaal is so impressed with Rashford that he has recommended he is richly rewarded.
United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is guided by Van Gaal on player contracts, but is just as keen to secure Rashford’s long-term future.
Woodward knows the striker will now be on the radar of United’s rivals and is desperate to keep hold of him.
Meanwhile, midfielder Michael Carrick admits he is still in the dark about his own future at Old Trafford.
The 34-year-old is out of contract in June and has not been offered a new deal. He has ruled out a move to China, but could consider a lucrative switch to the MLS.
He said: “Honestly, I don’t know. There’s no news at all, so I can’t comment.”
