The 40-year-old American Pie star was looking dishevelled – and a bit manic – as her blonde hair billowed during a heavy gust of wind.
The babe simply simply captioned the Instagram image: "Windy days."
But the wild hair appears to be the least of American Pie actress's problems after fans branded the photo "scary".
One troll said: "I remember the days when every dude wanted to f*** you. Those days are over."
The abuse continued with one follower saying "you look like a monster" and another comparing her to "a walker from the Walking Dead."
But some followers defended the Sharknado star, saying: "These comments are horrible, people are so quick to pass judgement on someone's exterior without knowing any details of their life."
Some even labelled the image "sexy" before adding: "I see one gorgeous classy lady in this picture. I don't know what the hell everyone else is talking about but you are awesome and too beautiful."
The actress has already concerned fans as she showed her tiny figure and dramatic weight loss during a holiday to Miami earlier in the year.
But insisting there's nothing to worry about, Tara tweeted: "I don't appreciate all the tabloids bullying me! The Photoshop on the pics are untrue, I'm just a skinny girl and I do eat! This is old news!"
