In the 75th minute of United vs Arsenal, Alexis Sanchez appeared to take a dive a win a free kick.
While remonstrating with the official, Van Gaal took a theatrical dive and left himself sprawled on the floor as the match continued behind him.
The United manager had the last laugh though as his team held on to a hard-fought 3-2 victory featuring another brace from teenage sensation Marcus Rashford.
The match featured five yellow cards and a lot of firm tackling on both sides of the ball.
