SERGIO AGUERO is set to miss the Manchester derby after being hit with a violent conduct charge by the FA.

The Manchester City striker has been accused of elbowing defender Winston Reid during Sunday’s 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham.

Aguero, who has until 6pm tomorrow to respond to the charge, faces a three-match ban if found guilty.

That would keep him out of the Premier League trip to neighbours Manchester United on September 10.

He would also miss the league game against Bournemouth on September 17 and the EFL Cup third round visit to Swansea three days later.

The clash involving Aguero and Reid went unpunished at the time, and when that happens, FA rules only allow charges to be brought if the referee admits to missing the incident.

Andre Marriner has told the FA that he did not see the incident – and the governing body then referred footage to a panel of three top-level former referees.

Each watched it independently before ruling that they felt it was a sending off offence, allowing the FA to charge Aguero.

The striker was at City’s training ground yesterday, with a calf injury having ruled him out of Argentina’s two World Cup qualifiers during the international break, against Uruguay on Friday and Venezuela next Wednesday.

Meanwhile City keeper Joe Hart is in Italy to complete a season-long loan to Torino.

The keeper flew out to seal the deal after being given permission by England boss Sam Allardyce to leave the squad preparing for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Slovakia.

City have agreed to pay almost two-thirds of Hart’s £140,000-a-week wages, and have also waived a loan fee. Torino will pay the keeper around £50,000 a week.

            

   

Hart’s options in the Premier League were severely limited, with Everton boss Ronald Koeman saying last week that he was not interested in a deal.

Sunderland were candidates to sign the 29-year-old, but he did not want to join a club likely to spend the season fighting against relegation.

Hart has effectively been demoted to third choice at City by new boss Pep Guardiola, who has played Willy Caballero in all but one game this season while securing a £15.4m deal to buy Claudio Bravo from Barcelona.

Guardiola has also allowed Samir Nasri to leave, with the midfielder hoping to join Sevilla tomorrow.

Nasri will have a medical if he can agree wages with the La Liga club.

Arsenal are very close to signing Lanus midfielder Miguel Almiron, according to Paraguayan journalist Ruben Dario Da Rosa.
The 22-year-old Paraguay international has emerged as a late transfer target for the Gunners and Tuttomercatoweb yesterday claimed negotiations were taking place between the two clubs.
Da Rosa, who works for Paraguayan TV network Telefuturo, tweeted: "Miguel Almiron is very near the Arsenal of England. €9.4m (£8m) [deal]."
Should Arsenal complete the signing of Almiron, he will become the third player to arrive at the Emirates Stadium in the final days of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez.

Marcos Rojo will still be a Manchester United player when the transfer window closes on Wednesday night, his agent has told Sport Witness.
The Argentinian has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford with Valencia reported to be keen to strike a deal before the deadline.
Carlos Goncalves said: “Manchester United rejected several offers from England and from abroad to sell the player.
"Manchester United want him to stay.”

DEAL CLOSE: Chelsea are set to sign Eduardo

Eduardo confirmed this week that he would leave Zagreb, saying his next move is the 'opportunity of lifetime' that he could not turn down.

And he has now completed his transfer to Chelsea, signing a one-year contract with the Blues.

He becomes the third signing of the summer for new Blues boss Antonio Conte with the transfer window closing on Wednesday.

The Italian has already spent big money on Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi and midfield powerhouse N’Golo Kante.

Eduardo has 34 caps for Portugal and was part of their squad for their Euro 2016 success earlier in the summer.
