Claudio Ranieri: We can't win the league, there's more chance of E.T landing in London

CLAUDIO RANIERI says there’s more chance of E.T. landing in central London than Leicester retaining their Premier League crown.

Ranieri’s Foxes astonished world football when they defied their 5000-1 starting odds to romp to the title.

But the cautious Italian says bookies should make them even bigger odds to pull off a repeat performance.

Ranieri said: “We can’t win the league. For this reason I say the bookmakers must make us 6,000-1 this time.

“It is impossible. It is more difficult than last season. It is more likely that E.T lands in Piccadilly Circus.”

He reckons the chances of all the recognised big guns failing to get their act together are zero.

“Everything is different which means in a way there’s less pressure on us,” he added.

 

“Now we have to be very clever, to try and repeat last season. It is difficult, not possible. The bookmakers have to make it 6,000-1 now. It is more difficult than last season.

“Five or six teams can win. There will be a very good fight and we want to show what a team we are and do our best of course.”
