Paul Pogba set to step-up training ahead of Manchester United debut on Friday

PAUL POGBA will step-up his training this week ahead of his Manchester United debut against Southampton.

The Franceinternational was suspended for last weekend’s win at Bournemouth due to bookings he picked up at Juve last season.
He has not kicked a ball in anger since being part of the France side that lost the Euro 2016 final to Portugal in Paris in July.
But Starsport understands United boss Jose Mourinho has been impressed with Pogba’s fitness levels since he arrived at the club.

Pogba, 23, had a three-week break in America but kept himself in shape with regular workouts and private training sessions.
Mourinho will continue to integrate him into his team this week and is expected to pick him to face the Saints at Old Trafford on Friday night.
Marouane Fellaini was expected to be the midfielder to make way for Pogba, but Mourinho has piled praise on the Belgium hard man.
Fellaini has struggled to win over the Old Trafford faithful since joining United from Everton in 2013 in a £27.5m deal.
