Why Henrikh Mkhitaryan isn't playing for Manchester United

MANCHESTER UNITED fans are still waiting for high-profile summer signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan to make his first competitive start for the club.

wThe Armenian wide man secured a £28m move to Old Trafford this summer but was left on the bench for United's 3-1 season-opening win over Bournemouth on Sunday.
But the Manchester Evening News say there is nothing to worry about.
Despite having a full pre-season at United the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder is not up to full speed yet in the eyes of Jose Mourinho.
It doesn't look like a promising sign for one of Mourinho's four signings this summer - though he did make a cameo at the Community Shield.
But Mkhitaryan has a history of growing into a club after making slow starts.
BENCH WARMER: Henrikh Mkhitaryan is yet to face competitive action for Manchester United
He was the star of the Bundesliga last term but it took the 27-year-old two seasons to blossom at Dortmund.
United will be hoping it takes significantly less time for the Armenian to start paying dividends in Manchester.
But for the time being it appears that Mourinho is not ready to throw his new signing into the cut and thrust of the Premier League just yet.
