CHELSEA star Cesc Fabregas DOESN’T want to quit the club - reports this afternoon claim.
The Blues midfielder was linked with a shock switch to Real Madrid this morning.
Fabregas came through the academy at the European champions' fierce rivals Barcelona - and a move to the Bernabeu would infuriate the Catalan club's fans.
Spanish newspaper Sport claimed Fabregas wants out of Stamford Bridge and has spoken with Real supremo Florentino Perez about a move to Madrid.
He didn’t feature at all in last night’s 2-1 win over West Ham, and is said to have fears over his first-team chances under Antonio Conte.
They say the former Arsenal captain wants to stick around and prove to Conte he's worth a starting spot.
STAYING PUT: Fabregas isn't pushing for a Chelsea exit
Speaking after last night’s win, Conte discussed the 29-year-old’s situation.
"Cesc is Chelsea's player, and I'm happy about him, with his attitude and behaviour,” he said.
"He must know from before that when we are a great team like Chelsea it can happen that I have to take a decision before the game to choose a starting XI.
"That can happen that Fabregas is not in the starting XI, but it can happen for all the players.
“It's important to see always the right attitude. Because we must fight this season and it's important to stay together in every situation."
Fabregas joined Chelsea for £30m in 2014 and helped the club to a Premier League and Capital One Cup double in his debut season.
