ALBERTO MORENO has hit back at his critics, insisting he takes no notice of them and that he is happy with his form.
HITTING BACK: Alberto Moreno says he is not listening to his criticsThe Liverpool left-back has come under fire this week following his performance in the 4-3 win over Arsenal on Sunday. The 24-year-old conceded a penalty before being caught upfield to allow Theo Walcott to put the Gunners ahead. He also struggled in the Europa League final at the end of last season but Moreno believes the majority of fans are behind him.He told The World Game: “The confidence that I have is having played 90 games in two seasons for a team like Liverpool, if three or four individuals want to carry on, then let them, it doesn’t bother me.“I’m a very self-confident kind of guy, I get on with doing my best and what I can to help the team.“In football everyone can make mistakes, even Lionel Messi can make mistakes, we’re all human“It’s about keeping going and keeping positive. I am very happy here, I love Liverpool Football Club, I love playing here, I’m happy with my form and how I’ve played, overall the fans are happy with me as well.“To let three or four comments get you down is not the right thing to do.“I just want to keep my head down and work hard.”Yesterday Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp leapt to the defence of Moreno and the Spaniard is adamant his confidence has not been hit.“I’ve got a lot of belief in myself and a lot of self-confidence. Football is all about opinion, not everyone watching a game can have the same opinion," he added.“I realize you can get criticism positive and negative, there are thousands of fans and everyone likes to have their opinion."But it’s not about taking notice whether three or four people criticise a performance, whether it’s me or any of the players.“It’s better not to read the press, whether it’s negative criticism or positive, it’s sometimes best just to keep an open mind and avoid reading too much into what is written."I believe, as a footballer it’s all about living day to day and letting your achievements do the talking."
