Transfer News: Man United dealt blow, agent on Liverpool exit, Lukaku to Chelsea update

Southampton manager manager Claude Puel believes Jose Fonte will be staying put this summer.

The 32-year-old Portugal international has been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks.

But when asked whether Fonte would remain at St Mary’s, Puel told Sky Sports: “Yes. He is a very important player for the squad and the team.

"It's fantastic to have two players that are champions of Europe, with Soares. Only we can say that. Jose came back with the squad and it's important to keep him with a good head and attitude."

Liverpool have not received any new offers for Christian Benteke, according to the player’s agent.

Jurgen Klopp recently admitted that he is willing to sell the striker but only for the right price.
However Eris Kismet has revealed that any deal for his client is far from complete, telling the Guardian: “We are waiting for any news but at this moment there is nothing concrete.
“There are several teams interested in signing him so hopefully we can reach a resolution soon.”

       

Everton reportedly hope to ward off a formal bid from Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku by holding contract talks with the striker’s agent.

Mino Raiola is currently in England to finalise Paul Pogba’s return to Manchester United.
But according to the Express, the Italian-born Dutch super-agent will meet with the Toffees this week to discuss Lukaku’s future at Goodison Park.
The 23-year-old, who Everton value at a staggering £75m, has been closely linked with a return to Chelsea this summer.
