Chloe Khan turned to Islam to be a 'proper Muslim' – as we reveal her secret name

SHE might have been a wild child on Celebrity Big Brother, but behind closed doors Chloe Khan has been turning to God for guidance.

FINDING GOD: Chloe Khan wanted to be a better Muslim

The reality star revealed on Facebook that she converted to Muslim, and was loyally studying the religion as well as learning Arabic.

Speaking exclusively to Daily Star Online, our source said Chloe converted to Islam "after she married her husband who is a Muslim".

Last week, we broke the news that Chloe had tied the knot to Mohammed Imran Khan back in 2011, although he later explained they are separated and "remain the best of friends".

The brunette bombshell, who was the last CBB evictee on Friday night, even had his initials MIK tattooed on her wedding finger.

The insider also revealed that Chloe changed her name after saying 'I do'.

"When Chloe married she secretly changed to her name from Chloe Heald to Safia Khan.

"She only uses Chloe for modelling but in her personal life she goes by the name of Safia."

Safia – plus spelling variations of it, including Sofiya and Saffiyah – is a female Muslim name meaning pure, and hails as 'early Islamic'.

In a post dating back to June 2012, Chloe confirmed her lifestyle change after being quizzed over whether she had converted.

She wrote: "Yes I reverted [sic] my personal Facebook is Safia Khan, this is my old one."

In October of the same year, Chloe shared a snap of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, alongside the picture she gushed: "Wow it's absolutely beautiful mashallah. Inshallah I'll go one day.

"Feel so different today from inside, I want to become a proper and better Muslim."

The mum-of-one was then asked if she is actually Muslim or "just married to one", with the BB babe affirming her religious status.

She replied: "Yes, I've been studying Islam for the last two years and learning Arabic etc.

"I've only ever eaten halal all my life not just since I got married."

However, Daily Star Online approached Chloe's reps for comment, and were told: "Chloe didn't convert to Islam.

"She did a short course on it to better understand the religion but that was it.

"The reason she changed her name to Safia wasn't anything to do with religion.

"It was because she loves sapphire diamonds, she created a spin on that."

Meanwhile, earlier today Eamonn Holmes took a cheeky pop at Chloe as she grace the This Morning sofa.

 

As he welcomed her onto the show, he claimed to "not recognise" her with her clothes on.
