What is Obama’s daughter smoking? Malia Obama snapped 'smoking cannabis' at music festival

BARACK Obama’s eldest daughter has been photographed smoking what appears to be a cannabis joint by a witness who claimed “you could smell the marijuana smoke”.

Malia Obama was caught on video with the rolled-up cigarette at Chicago’s Lollapalooza festival as she danced and twerked along to rap music.
The 18-year-old raised eyebrows by ducking out of the Democratic National Convention with her parents in order to attend the raucous gathering in her hometown.
She was already pictured dancing raunchily, grinding while wearing a skimpy pair of shorts and a tight-fitting boob tube, when the shocking smoking footage emerged.

Jerrdin Selwyn, 18, witnessed the incident and told Radar Online that the smell of weed hung thick in the air.
She said: “I caught Malia smoking pot and I have the pictures to prove it.
“You could smell the marijuana smoke.

"I saw some young guy hand her a cigarette and she took at least one hit on it.
"She had it in her hand for about one minute, then gave it back to him.”
But Twitter users are leaping to Malia's defence.
Khaleed said: "Get off Malia, she's been stuck in that house for eight years. Let that girl live a little."
Big Wave Dave added: "To every parent who's bothered by Malia having fun at Lolla last weekend - have you checked your kid's Snapchat lately?"
Cannabis has been decriminalised in Chicago’s state of Illinois where possession of 10 grams of the drug is within the law.
But Malia is not the first Obama to smoke the drug, with her father Barack being a member of the cannabis toking, basketball playing ‘Choom Gang’ while living in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The President admitted experimenting with drugs in his youth, but claims he has warned his two children about cannabis.
He said: "I've told my daughters I think it's a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy.
"As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life.”

He added: "I don't think it is more dangerous than alcohol."
Malia, who graduated in spring 2016, is currently taking a year out before starting at Harvard in 2017.
