Newcastle flop Florian Thauvin has completed a season-long loan move to Marseille.
The Championship outfit have confirmed the winger has joined the Ligue 1 giants and will sign permanently after his temporary stint is completed. The 23-year-old arrived on Tyneside from Marseille 12 months ago for £15m, but was sent back to the Stade Velodrome in January on loan. Thauvin made 16 appearances for the Toon, scoring one goal.
The Magpies have made enquiries about Anderlecht’s Idrissa Sylla. The Telegraph claim Rafa Benitez is eyeing another striker before this month’s transfer window shuts. But the Spaniard might need to battle Wolves for the striker. It's suggested the big-spending Midlands based side are also keen on the 25-year-old. Rolando Aarons has penned a new five-year contract with Newcastle. The 20-year-old winger snubbed interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham, who were all seriously interested in securing his services - according to the Independent. He's pledged his future to Newcastle until 2021, in a boost to Benitez's outfit after their 1-0 defeat to Fulham last week. Aarons said: "It's something that was always going to happen but it's nice to get it done. I love the club and this shows it even more"
