PASSENGERS have been evacuated from a packed plane after a bomb threat was reported at an airport.
The alarm was raised shortly after 6am (local time) at Faro airport – a destination popular with Brit holidaymakers – in Portugal minutes before take off.
The status of the flight is currently closed, according to the airport's website, but the threat is still ongoing.
Across the globe there have been a series of bomb scares in London, Paris and Birmingham following threats from terror group ISIS to carry out more atrocities.
It is believed the plane was due to fly from Faro to the country's capital Lisbon – a 30 minute journey.
A spokesman for TAP Portugal said: "There was a bomb threat and the plane was handed over to the authorities for inspection.
"The passengers have been removed."

Police have made no comment.
