Their honorary president Massimo Moratti has revealed that the former Chelsea boss will be in attendance for the visit of Sampdoria.

Mourinho is widely expected to replace Louis van Gaal at Manchester United in the summer.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport say that Mourinho will use the trip to persuade Mauro Icardi to join him at Old Trafford in the summer.

Moratti said: “I think Mourinho will be at San Siro on Saturday evening.

“A gift for the fans? It’s him who likes to come to Milan.

“He’s in the history of the Nerazzurri and his presence further strengthens the club.

“We’d scheduled a lunch either here or in London, and we took the opportunity of the Sampdoria match to see each other.”
