Giroud, 29, is currently Arsenal's only out-and-out striker.

The France international has had a good season in front of goal, finding the back of the net 18 times in 30 appearances.

However, he's found goals hard to come by recently and has failed to get his name on the scoresheet in Arsenal's last eight games.

And according to Spanish journalist Kike Marin, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has tried to bring in a number of world-class strikers to replace the Frenchman.

He tweeted: "Arsenal needs a striker top.

"Wenger knows it and so he tried to sign Suarez, Benzema or Aubameyang.

"Sorry, Giroud."

Giroud joined Arsenal in the summer of 2012 from Ligue 1 side Montpellier and has found the back of the net 76 times in 164 appearances.
