Johnson pleaded guilty to grooming the girl in hundreds of WhatsApp messages and sexual activity with the child when he passionately kissed her in the front seat of his black Range Rover Sport.
A jury found him guilty by a 10-2 majority of a second sexual activity charge involving putting his hands inside the teen's trousers and molesting her.

''I consider it right that a separate and consecutive sentence is required to indicate the gravity of the offence of grooming,'' the judge added.
He also suggested the footballer, who psychiatrists said suffers from "hyper sexual disorder" which compels him to seek out new ways of gratifying his lust, should undergo treatment behind bars to help him combat his urges.
The case will be sent to a higher court in London for the consideration, according to the official, who said no appeal against sentence was lodged.
On the Adam Johnson's Appeal Fight page on Facebook, a writer thought to be the player's sister Faye wrote: "Appeal Against Conviction lodged!
