Brit, 52, put on terror list 'after raising money for al-Qaida and Taliban'

A BRIT suspected of raising funds for al-Qaida and the Taliban has been added to a US list of "global terrorists".

James Alexander McLintock, thought to be 52, was accused of raising money for terror groups, according to reports.
The Scot admitted in 2004 he had been a "committed jihadist" who fought in Afghanistan and Bosnia.
He also revealed he changed his name to Yaqub McLintock and moved to Pakistan after converting to Islam in his 20s.

The US Treasury last night said his charity – the Al-Rahmah Welfare Organisation (RWO) – funds extremist groups.
They are thought to be include the Taliban, Lashkar-e-Taiba and al-Qaida – the warped group behind the 9/11 attacks on New York.
Americans are now banned from doing business with McLintock – born in Dundee – under sanctions imposed by the US Treasury.

A spokesman said: "McLintock used RWO and the cover of providing stipends to Afghan orphans to finance the Taliban's militant activities."
He later created fake documents to help "obtain donations for RWO" which were "funnelled to al-Qaida", the official added.
McLintock is also accused of having received money from charities in the UK and Persian Gulf.
