Terrifying moment hijacker breezes past security before boarding EgyptAir flight

THIS is the chilling moment a plane hijacker wearing a fake suicide vest casually strolled past security.

Seif Eldin Mustafa was able to slip through the metal detector at Burg El Arab airport in Egypt without raising suspicion.
In the clip, Mustafa places his bag down confidently and puts his hands out for security to search him.

There's a brief exchange before the hijacker collects his items and walks on care free.
The chilling footage comes after Mustafa took passengers and crew hostage on an EgyptAir flight.

He forced terrified crew to divert the plane to Larnarca airport, in Cyprus.
Fears have been raised about how the hijacker was able to slither under the radar after going through a metal detector and being searched.

Mustafa threatened to detonate the belt unless he received a raft of requests.
The hijacker, who was dubbed "unstable" by authorities, let the majority of passengers go except seven including crew.

One brazen Brit onboard, Ben Innes, took a daring snap with the hijacker during the dramatic standoff.
Mustafa eventually gave himself up after six hours, releasing the foreign nationals and crew.
He has been labelled an "idiot" for carrying out the sick act.
