Dirk Kuyt says Liverpool have been after this player for years: Medical is planned

DIRK KUYT believes Georginio Wijnaldum would be a great signing for Liverpool.
The Reds have had a £25m bid for the Newcastle midfielder accepted and he is due to undergo a medical soon.
If the deal goes through, he will be following in the footsteps of former Liverpool player and Dutch teammate, Kuyt.
Kuyt joined Liverpool from Feyenoord in 2006, a club where Wijnaldum was from the age of 13 before leaving in 2011.
Kuyt admits Liverpool were scouting Wijnaldum when he was still at Anfield.
He told Dutch newspaperDe Telegraaf: “A wonderful transfer for Gini.
“The best compliment for him was that his name in my time at Liverpool buzzed inside the club.
OLD TIMES: Wijnaldum and Kuyt played together for Holland
“He was watched by the scouts in his youth days at Feyenoord as a very great talent.
“When I played for Liverpool, I heard them frequently say that he would be a wonderful asset one day.
“He eventually ended up at PSV and Newcastle, before moving to Anfield. He is now at a top club in England and he’ll be at home.
“He is not only a good player, but also a player with the lungs of a horse.”
