Liverpool interested in Real Madrid midfielder: They're listening to offers

LIVERPOOL have got their eye on Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, according to reports.
Mateo KovacicON THE WAY OUT: Kovacic might not be playing for Real Madrid this season
Jurgen Klopp’s side were linked with the Croatia international last summer before he left Inter Milan for Real Madrid in a £26m move.
But the 22-year-old became phased out Zinedine Zidane’s plans last year as the Frenchman preferred other options in the team.
Now Spanish newspaper Marca say Real will be looking to offload the fringe player.
And their report suggests Liverpool could pick up the pieces as Klopp is interested in Kovacic.
It’s thought the Croatia star could see even fewer starts if Real manage to sign Andre Gomes, so a move could be on the cards.
Kovacic made 34 appearances for Real last year, but played all 90 minutes just three times in all competitions.
He also featured in the Croatia side that made it to the Euro 2016 last 16.
