FUTURE IN DOUBT: Germany ace Mario Gotze
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a reunion with former mentor Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this summer.
The Liverpool Echo report that Gotze is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer but Liverpool will not be making a move for him.
They claim that Tottenham and Gotze's former club Borussia Dortmund are now going head-to-head to for the £20m-rated 24-year-old.
German outlet Bild reported over the weekend that Spurs are leading the way to land Gotze this summer.
Klopp signed Sadio Mane from Southampton for £30m earlier this summer and is said to be happy with his attacking options.
The Kop boss will also have the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic to call upon next term, meaning he has dropped his interest in Gotze.
