LIVERPOOL are confident of agreeing a deal with Newcastle this week for Georginio Wijnaldum.
DEAL: Liverpool are confident of striking a fee for Georginio WijnaldumJurgen Klopp has made the Holland international his new midfield target after missing out on Udinese's Piotr Zielinski, according to the Daily Telegraph.Newcastle are demanding £27m for Wijnaldum but it is claimed Liverpool reckon they can nab him for a fee worth around £20m.The Reds are also reportedly hopeful of pressing ahead with talks in the coming days.A number of Premier League teams including Merseyside rivals Everton and Tottenham have have been linked with Wijnaldum.Toffees boss Ronald Koeman attempted to sign him for Southampton last summer but lost out to Newcastle, who splashed out £14.5m.Wijnaldum scored 11 goals in 38 appearances for the Magpies last season but his goals could not prevent them sinking into the Championship.Meanwhile, Liverpool are closing in on a £4.2m deal for Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan.
