Premier League club confident of signing Liverpool ace after £13m bid is accepted

STOKE are confident of completing the signing of Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.

Liverpool have accepted a £13m bid from the Potters for the Wales international.
Allen will now hold talks with Stoke and ESPN claim Mark Hughes is optimistic about convincing him to move to the Britannia Stadium.
But it is believed Allen favours a return to Swansea, the club he left to join Liverpool in 2012.
Allen has just one year left on his contract and has not held talks about fresh terms.
He was interested in signing a new deal but Kop boss Jurgen Klopp cannot guarantee him regular first-team football at Anfield next season.
The impending arrival of Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle would further limit Allen's chances.

OPTIMISTIC: Stoke are confident of signing Joe Allen

After Liverpool's 2-0 win over Huddersfield last night, Klopp said: "We cannot comment because we couldn't do anything else all day if we did, so we shouldn't start with this.
"I feel good [about Allen]. I like the guy and I really think he is a wonderful football player: I knew this before the European Championships, I saw it during the Euros and I know it now.

"I have said all I can say about this. It is all about respecting contracts, negotiating or not - whatever - and make a transfer or not.
"But is it nothing to discuss in public but I've not seen him since the middle of May in Basle [at the Europa League final], sadly."
