JEREMY MENEZ had his right ear torn off during a freak collision on his Bordeaux debut yesterday.
By Jack Watts
Didier Ndong accidentally trod on the France international's ear as he fell to the ground, ripping part of it from his head.
The 29-year-old was then spotted being seen to by physios with blood streaming down the side of his face.
Menez was battling with FC Lorient midfielder Ndong during a pre-season friendly match.
The incident will go down as one of the most gruesome things to happen on a football pitch in recent memory.
But there have been plenty more injuries over the years which have made even the most hardened fans grab the sick bucket.
Ex-Premier League hitman Demba Ba's leg was horrifically broken in a Chinese Super League match just the other week.
And who could forget Djibri Cisse's sickening injury in 2004?
