Xabi Alonso: What I think of Jurgen Klopp's work at Liverpool

XABI ALONSO has labelled Jurgen Klopp a special character and believes the German fully understands what it means to be Liverpool manager.

SPECIAL CHARACTER: Xabi Alonso believes Jurgen Klopp is a perfect fit for Liverpool

Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in October and led the Reds to two cup finals last season and is now preparing for his first full campaign in charge at Anfield.
Alonso established himself as a fan favourite during his five years on Merseyside during which time he helped Liverpool win the Champions League.

And the 34-year-old, now at Bayern Munich, is hopeful Klopp can bring silverware back to Liverpool this season.
“It’s important to find the right man [to be Liverpool manager]," he told ESPN.
"I think that so far, in just a few months, he has embraced the Liverpool culture, what the club means, how the fans are, the passion you need to have to represent Liverpool.

"He’s a special character, I think, and that’s why he’s loving it so far.
"Hopefully, in the new season he can turn those good feelings into something more.”
